Front and back yards were re-platted around a sequence of wood decks, planters, and a decomposed-granite pause. Inside, a slatted oak ceiling threads the new genkan to the rebuilt guest bath — fluted travertine, blackened bronze fixtures, end-grain oak vanity. The brief asked for a home that ages the way a teahouse ages: louder in the trees, quieter in the corners.
