We led with the kitchen because it sets the tone for the entire main floor. Deep green cabinetry runs the length of the galley, paired with a honed marble counter, a farmhouse sink, and stainless appliances tucked into a clean run. An induction cooktop sits flush on the stone. Overhead, a tongue-and-groove wood ceiling warms the room and pulls daylight deeper into the plan. The result reads grounded rather than precious, which is what the family asked for. The primary bath carries the same logic in a softer key. A wood-clad ceiling floats above a dual white oak vanity, lit by a pair of backlit mirrors. Gray porcelain tile wraps the shower and a freestanding tub alcove, framed in blackened steel for contrast against the marble surround. Black tapware and matte fixtures tie the palette together across both bathrooms. Outside, we rebuilt the entry sequence with a new white oak stair, slim black metal railings, and a refreshed gray board-and-batten facade. A planted bed of lavender, juniper, and seasonal color softens the approach. The upper deck gained a covered gable and lantern pendants, giving the front elevation a clearer center and a proper arrival.
