The Markham Nature Area is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy nature. It’s located in Concord, CA, and has over 1,500 acres of land with trails that will take you through the forest and along creeks. Markham Nature Park and Arboretum is 16 acres off of the northeast side of Cowell Road, near Babel Lane and at the south end of LaVista Avenue. Galindo Creek meanders through the park.

The area also features an off-leash dog park which is not only great for your pooch but will allow you to explore different parts of the park without worry. You can see the clear green grass, the dense forest of oak trees, and the gentle hills. The air is fresh with no smog in sight. As you walk up to the entrance of this natural area, it feels like you are entering an oasis.

Markham Nature Area is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s a large, open space with lots of different animals, plants, and other interesting things to see. Some paths wind through the area so you can explore it at your own pace. The trailheads have maps that show all the trails in this park so you can plan your visit before heading out there.

Nice park, peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. Nice place to take the dog for a walk. Nice open grass area for kids to play. Room to fly a kite etc. There’s a tiny garden in the middle of the park, which contains a Mediterranean, Asian, and South African minor. Plants from other countries may thrive nicely in our climate, which is amazing! There are lots of bright and vibrant blooms as well as some of the most eye-catching cacti to be found anywhere.
